James M. (Jim) Carlson

James M. (Jim) Carlson is a seasoned business leader, attorney, and entrepreneur with a track record of scaling companies and driving growth both domestically and internationally. As Chief Operating Officer of Reyes Browne Law (RBL), he has been instrumental in expanding Texas’ fastest-growing personal injury law firm.

Jim holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and an International MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, earned through a consortium of top global business schools. His expertise spans business development, marketing, operations, and leadership across multiple industries.

Previously, Jim was the Founder & CEO of two financial media companies, each of which he scaled from $0 to over $150 million in revenue within four years, earning spots on the Inc. 5000 list (#43 and #147). He was recognized as “CEO of the Year” by UT Business Magazine and built company cultures that were consistently ranked among the “Best Places to Work” by Forbes, Glassdoor, and Inc.

Beyond financial media and law, Jim has built, scaled, and successfully exited businesses across a broad range of industries, including direct sales, technology, media publishing and distribution, internet services, financial education, and recreation and fitness. His ability to identify opportunities, develop scalable business models, and drive operational excellence has led to multiple successful private equity sales and acquisitions. With a deep expertise in scaling operations, business strategy, and international expansion, Jim has managed businesses in 37+ countries, led thousands of sales and training events, and overseen the legal, financial, and operational aspects of global enterprises.

In addition to his current leadership at RBL, Jim is an investor and board member at Cache LLC (trustcache.com), a company specializing in premium outdoor accessories. Cache’s Basecamp System, the world’s first modular tailgate system, recently won “Best in Show – New Accessories” at the SEMA auto industry event in Las Vegas. The company also holds private-label OEM supplier agreements with most major U.S. truck manufacturers.
